11/1 Wrong-way Driver
There was a wrong way driver on the 91 freeway on October 26th in the morning. She is facing felony charges for drunk driving after hitting a car head-on that contained 4 passengers. The wreck killed the front two passengers and injured the back two. The wrong-way driver was confirmed to be a 21 year-old Fullerton woman and was to believed drunk at the time. I think this is a very strange passage and also very mind blowing. I do not know what I would do if I saw someone driving towards me on the freeway. I first would be scared out of my mind and try to move out of the way in any way possible. It would suck because obviously someone would get hit sooner or later and you know there would be a death in the process. The impact of the collision would be very intense and could do a lot of damage. I am shocked that the driver is still alive to be able to get convicted of a felony. I would imagine that the driver of both vehicles would be killed instantly on a head-on collision. I now want to look at this from another perspective. What is going through the minds of the nieces of the two killed in this collision. They are injured by the stupid mistake of the drunk driver and their aunt and uncle were killed in the accident. They are now going to have to live with that image in their head for the rest of their lives of their aunt and uncle dead. You can read the whole article at this link, http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/10/wrong-way-driver-1.html. What are your thoughts on this?

DODGERS
Well, they finally did it. The Dodgers finally clinched the NL West division. For those of you who do not know a lot about baseball or haven't watched it lately I will break it down for you. The Dodgers just needed one more win the win the division and advance into the playoffs. Unfortunately the Dodgers lost 5 games in a row after they knew that and the second place team won 6 in a row. This is a big problem because this weekend was the last weekend of the regular season and the last three games were against the Rockies which were in second place. The Dodgers had three games to win one and they finally did it yesterday 10/3/09. You can read more about this event at http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-dodgers-rockies4-2009oct04,0,222031.story. I was kinda scared for a little bit though. I love to watch sports and I get really into the end of the season. The Rockies were hot and had a 6 game winning streak while the Dodgers had a 5 game losing streak. The Dodgers only had to win one game against them to clinch the division but there were my doubts. I still had faith in the Dodgers because they have every thing it takes to be the NL West division champions. One thing that was proven throughout these last couple of weeks is that the Dodgers are consistent every year. They always start out super good like this year with spending most of their games with the best record in baseball but this past week were close to losing the NL West title. This proves that this year like the rest started out good but ended with a lot of losses. They did pull it off though and get the home field advantage for the NL Championship. GO DODGERS!

High School Trouble Maker
I can not believe what this article told me. There was a 16 year old boy, that was seen by witnesses, riding his bike away from the start of a brush fire in Yucaipa. This boy is suspected of a dozen wildfires that have arrived in the past three years and he is only 16. Reporters say that this is the second arrest of a juvenile, at a high profile level, for arson. They also did some research and found out that about 50% of arsonists arrested are juveniles and 3% are under the age of 10. This was a big discovery and a very necessary discovery because the one fire they matched him with also connected to the 11 or so other fires that were believed to be started by the same person. Arsonists think they have the great idea of starting a fire and continue to do the same thing for every fire they start. There will obviously be a connection if they do this.
I think that this is a stupid thing for a 16 year old boy to be doing on his spare time. When I was 16 I was thinking about getting my license and playing sports not starting massive fires for my personal enjoyment. This makes me wonder where he could get the ideas from. Could it be the parenting that played a part in this? Did his parents get him interested in destructive fires? Did they just not care for him so he became this way? These are all different ideas to consider. My thought is that his parents some way or another got him interested in fires which led to this major destruction. Whether it be his parents teaching him how to start them intentionally or it accidentally came up. That is my opinion. What is yours?
